We are VERY appreciative that we have had a place to keep the library up and running during the renovation of our library building.

We are counting down to our move to the renovated large and spacious building. We do apologize for how crowded it has gotten here in the lowly basement of the city building. Even though a number of our books and items are in storage, we are still outgrowing our current place of dwelling. There are so many wonderful books that have come out and we do try and keep up with the new items, only problem is where to keep all these new books. So, even though we have many of our new arrivals displayed across the tables we really do work here at the library at putting away books and things. Please feel free to come and check out one of these great new finds here.

ALSO!! Fablehaven #3 has arrived!!! If you would like to be placed on the waiting list to be able to read this latest volume, feel free to either call in or come in to do so. Please be patient while other patrons who have the book are enjoying it before you. As your friendly librarians, we are unable to force other patrons to hurry up with the book so you can have it.

Yesterday we celebrated Jackie’s birthday. She is the head librarian here at Ephraim Library. We received several new children’s chapter and Children’s picture books (yeah!). I admit that I love it when we get in new books. It is always fun to see the new things that come out for kids to read. I love it when books become popular with the older kids and young adults. We just received the new “Crique Du Freak” series which is quite popular with middle school aged kids.

You should check out our suggested reading lists. Anna is a great source to ask what is good to read for fantasy/scifi themed books. She is also our resident smut authority here at the library. I am always happy with the books she has suggested for me to read.

Jackie is our sick and twisted head librarian and is always a good source to come to if you like the out of the ordinary books that have to do with haunting or just plain interesting reads that may not be too popluar. One of her favorites is “Glass Castle”. She also enjoys books by the author Jodi Piccoult.

Jeanette is a great resource for murder mystery/ and romance books, as well as the LDS fiction. She is partial to the author Lisa Jackson, Sue Grafton, and Tess Gerritsen.

The restoration is coming along nicely. The inside is finished, except for cleaning. There is a rather heavy film of dust from all the rock work going on to beautify the outside. After the rock work is complete and the inside cleaned sufficient enough to avoid major allergy difficulties, we should be able to start moving in. We do have the official date of closing our library of May 5. That’s when the major work begins.

I would like to let all of you, out there in Ephraim, know that we would welcome help in moving boxes and items from the dungeon (I mean current library) to library mecca (our newly refurbished library). As librarians, we are well aware of the excitement our patrons hold for our relocation. We are all aquiver as well. Volunteers are much appreciated to help us move in a timely manner. Of course we cannot have everyone help in reshelving and reorganizing the items, but muscular assistant would cause us to whisper your names in reverent tones at least for the duration of our relocation.

A big thank you goes out to all our patrons for their patience. We would also like to thank all those who have aided, financially or via donation, to our great beautiful library. It really is a wondrous site to behold.
