It’s a quiet night here at the library. I honestly think that my sinuses are suffering and dragging me down with them. Seems that Stephany Meyers has another popular book out. “Host” is on hold, and many of our patrons are coming back saying that they have enjoyed the book. Our librarian, Anna, read the book. If you want to know about it, you’ll have to ask her.

Pagent time brings many visitors here to the Sanpete area. I hope that all residents and visitors are enjoying the beauty that the pagent provides.

I still haven’t mastered the “self tanning” application. Though my legs are streaked with tanner, I am certain that any attempt to color is appreciated since my red hair comes along with some mighty white legs. No one should have to suffer that!

Anywhoo! We are now setting up our CD cleaner and will be offering CD, DVD, and Game disc cleaning for the patrons for a small fee of $1 per item donated to the “friends of the library” fund. It is one awsome machine! I tried to clean my home CD’s with those crappy cleaner devices that can be bought at store, and they worked….kinda. I decided to try out cleaning it on the Library’s bad boy CD cleaner… Low and behold, it looked like brand new! Now don’t get me wrong. There are some items beyond the resurrection powers of even this amazing device. If the scratch goes all the way through metalic top coating, you are out of luck. The information stored on that portion of the disc is gone. But this thing can take care of some pretty nasty scratches. I’m just saying… WOW.

My youngest recieved quite a nasty burn on the tips of his ears the other day. They blistered and are now scabbed. I feel horible about it. A note of advice to those with burns/ or children with burns: you can use desatin diaper cream on the sunburned areas to extra protect them when out in the sun. The cream contains zinc oxide that helps to keep from burning more. Keep those sweet kids safe.

another wonderful Friday enjoying the summer weather. It’s summer, the kids are home therefore I am home with the kiddies. My third child beggs to be hooked up to games throughout the day. He is learning to apreciate the great weather outside weither he likes it or not! ;-) I ‘m just not as structured as the Head Start program he was in this past school year and he if feeling the shift in lack of scheduling. I’m concidering working on school work during the summer, problem is he is rather smart for a pre-K and Iworry that he’ll be bored when starting Kindergarden…. a bored kid is a potential trouble maker. He is such a doll though. it warms my heart to see my kids love to read, and he sure does love that he can sound out words and read. its so great.

word to the wise on all patrons who use the play aways: make sure to turn them all the way off after using them. that means holding down the power button until the screen displays OFF. We are having problems with the batteries running out after one use. they are great little gadgets and the younger in generations seem to enjoy them. We have had a few adventurious older folks who have attempted using them and have enjoyed how convient they are. No tapes or CD’s to keep track of. Just a little device the size of a deck of cards (or the size of a dieter’s portion of meat). Pretty awsome. though i am a little leary of actually using the earbuds provided in the case. I am a bit paranoid about ear cleanliness after working as a MA and washing out people’s ear-crud with a waterpick. one would be amazed what collects in a person’s ear. one word of advise, us your own earphones.

Oh, if you used the church next to us as a reference point to find us, it is now a pile of rubble. The property was purchased by Zion’s bank and the demolition is in full swing. After serving as a community church for many years, it provided a great place for fire fighter practice for a few weeks and is now nothing but dust, segments of bricks and shaddered glass. With a fond farewell from the comunity, the church has scattered it’s memories to the wind and has given up the ghost. I wonder what Zion’s bank plans to do with the site. time will tell

suppose that’s all for my blah blah blog. Remember, get a good book and get some sun. Tan fat definately looks much better than white fat. (I am a blinding example of the latter).

Yeah it’s Friday!!! The sun is shining and it looks to be a glorious day. Perhaps a perfect day to grab a book, blanket and snacks and head outdoors to read. I love to do that! I call it multi tasking motherhood. I have my book (and shade umbrella because I burn easy) and the kids get to run around the yard and have a blast while I loose myself in a book. I do have to emerge from my story occassionaly in order to check on my two year old, he’s a bit of a wanderer and if I don’t keep an eye on him, he’d be headed into town. Actually, my now five year old was three when we moved here and he decided to head to main street to the library by himself. I was frantic searching all over for him when I recieved the call from the library. “Are you missing a little boy?” Made me grateful that they recognized him because my neighbor is the library manager (Jackie).

Anyways, that’s just a little antecdote to share of the motherhood joy I live. Have a wonderful Friday and enjoy the weekend.!!!

Come one come all.

I am looking forward to warmer, sunnier summer days. Two years ago, my girls had a wave crashing good time at the beach in CA. I am just a tad flustered by the coolness of weather here and don’t know what to do with myself. Perhaps mother nature is saving the neighborhood of having to see me sun bathe? (I doubt anyone should really be subjected to that ;-). Thank heavens for good books to read. I have just finished “The Faerie Path” by Frewin Jones. It was a wonderful read. I couldn’t put it down and finished it in one and a half days, of course I was late into the night reading it. I have the other two in the series and must polish them of quick because they are due back in two weeks and I know at least one patron is waiting for me to finish. I will hurry!

Yesterday, we recieved a large shipment of books, many of which were featured at many of the booths at the ULA conference last month. Hope that are patrons will be thrilled at our growing selection. If any of you patrons out there have any suggestions of books you’d like to see here in the library, talk to Jackie and she will try and see what she can do.
